Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth National Park
In the morning your safari will start with our guide picking you up from the hotel early in the morning and drive you to the western side of Uganda. You will have a stop over at the equator and Mpambire drum makers and have photo shoots and shopping respectively. You will then proceed to Mbarara and stop to have lunch there and continue to Queen Elizabeth National park. On your way you will view the green and hilly escarpments of Mbarara and also the long horned cattle in Ankole. On your way into the park you will view the escarpments of the Crater lakes in Rwenzori Mountains, some animals on the road side and the rift valley. You will then have a boat ride along the Kazinga channel which separates L. George and L.Edward in the evening where you will have a good view of the game and may get to see some animals like buffalos and some remarkable species of birds. The night will be spent at Mweya safari lodge and have dinner there too. The transit will approximately take about 7 hours.
Day 2: Game Viewing in Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early morning break fast, you will have a game drive around the park where you will have an excellent opportunity to see a number of animals and since it’s an early morning drive you may have the chance to see the predators returning to their hide outs. Animals like spotted hyenas, elephants, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs and hippos. After the game drive, you will be taken back to Mweya lodge/ Katara lodge/ Simba safari lodge for lunch and refreshments then proceed to maramagambo forest for an exciting adventure of getting to see the different creatures in the forest like its primates and the bird population and not forgetting the flora in the forest. You can also visit the bat cave with a resident python. You will then go back to Mweya lodge/Katara lodge/Simba lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Return to Kampala
Early morning you leave for Kyambura gorge for the chimpanzee tracking which is an exciting activity as you get to also learn how the chimpanzees live and their way of life. They are friendly and you may get the chance to even touch them. You will also visit L. Katwe which is the oldest salt mine in Uganda. After this, the journey back to Kampala begins through Kasese to Fort portal road where you will be dropped at a place of your choice. This will mark the end of your three day safari tour in Uganda.
