Detailed Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Set off after breakfast for Queen Elizabeth National park with stop over at the Equator along Masaka Highway and Lunch in Mbarara before proceeding to check in at your Lodge Pumba cottages, Kyambura game lodge, Mweya safari lodge/Simba safari Camp. This is an 8-9 Hours drive but the human activities and beautiful landscapes will keep your eyes busy before arrival.
Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat trip
Have your breakfast and the go for an early morning game drive where you get to see tree climbing lions, elephants, Uganda kobs, antelopes and some other animals. After our picnic lunch head for the afternoon boat cruise on kazinga channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward shared betwee Uganda anda DR Congo and offers more diversity for animals cooling the hot heat and the bird and reptile asking in the sun. Then retire to the lodge for the night stay and dinner.
Day 3: Morning Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Bwindi
With an early breakfast, proceed for Chimpanzee tracking at the Kyambura Gorge/Kalinzu Forest Reserves of Queen Elizabeth National park. This often takes 3-5 Hours trekking depending on where the Chimpanzee group is found and photo captions. We shall have Lunch enroute as we connect to Bwindi Impenetrable National park to check in at your hotel; Gorilla forest camp/Buhoma lodge/gorilla resort/engage lodge /Buhoma community bandas for dinner and the overnight.
Day 4: Gorilla tracking expedition and community walk
Early in the morning, have breakfast and also be briefed before starting this exciting though tiring activity. You will then start the gorilla tracking and there’s no set time for the tracking since it all depends on how far the gorillas have moved. In case you finish the tracking early, you will enjoy a guided community walk to the people living around this park and get to interact with them and may also get to enjoy cultural performances from these locals.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Depart Bwindi for Kampala
After break fast, depart for Kampala having lunch enroute at Mbarara arriving in the evening to either check into your hotel or be dropped off at the Airport in case of departing flight booking.
