Day 1: Arrival at the Kigali International Airport
Arrival and transfer to your hotel by our company guide, later he will take you around for a city tour of Kigali. Expect to visit places such as handicraft shops, Kigali Museum, pottery projects, the Genocide Memorial Ground, etc. Dinner and overnight at Chez Lando Hotel/Okapi Hotel
Day 2: Nyungwe Forest adventure
After breakfast, transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park en route visiting the King’s Palace at Nyanza, Butare Museums and Murambi Genocide Memorial Site. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe safari lodge/Gisakura Guest House
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking
Take your breakfast before 6.00 am and embark on chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest. Expect to encounter the Angola colobus monkeys, forest birds, reptiles and butterflies. Past lunch, undertake a nature walk in Nyungwe forest. Hike as far as Kamiranzovu Water Falls. Return to the hotel lodge for dinner and overnight at Nyungwe safari lodge/ Gisakura Guest House
Day 4: Lake Kivu Safari
After breakfast transfer to Kibuye via breathtaking mountains and deep valleys with lunch enroute at Hotel Bethanie. You may relax at the lake shore of Lake Kivu or embark on a boat cruise on the Lake Kivu. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel.
Day 5: Transfer to Volcanoes national park
After breakfast, drive to Volcanoes national park arriving early enough for golden monkey tracking. After lunch, transfer to Karisoke and pay a visit to the Dian Fossey’s grave. Dinner and an overnight at Kinigi Guest House /Gorilla Nest Lodge
Day 6: Gorilla tracking in the Volcanoes national park
Take an early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters of Parc National des Volcans for a briefing from the ranger guides. Begin trekking the mountain gorillas in the lush rainforest at the slopes of the Virungas. The activity ranges between 1 – 8 hours depending on the movements of the gorillas in the jungle. Return to the lodge for a late lunch. You may go for a community walk. Dinner and an overnight at Kinigi Guest House /Gorilla Nest Lodge
Day 7: Return to Kigali.
Have a leisurely breakfast and then set off for your flight home.
