5 Days Primate and Gorilla Tracking Safari
Day 1: Kampala – Kibale National Park
Set off for Kibaale National Park via Mubende- Fort Portal Highway. Arrive in the afternoon and take a nature walk in Bigodi swamp to look for different bird species like the Papyrus Gonolek, White-winged Warbler and many more also to see plants and retire for Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the moon/ Primate Lodge/ Chimpanzee view Guest house.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibaale Forest
After breakfast, set off to the forest with the largest number of primates in Africa, expect to see a variety of primates plus many forest inhabitants. Take a nature walk in the tropical rain forest in search for wild chimpanzees with skilled guides. Have lunch and later visit the Crater Lake in the park for refreshment and photography. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the moon/ Primates lodge/ Chimpanzee View Guest house.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Have your Breakfast and then leave for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Drive through the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth called Ishasha. You will have your lunch enroute. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Lodge/ Buhoma Community Bandas.
Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Breakfast will be served at 6:30 am so that your ready for the pre- tracking briefing at the UWA offices or starting point. Briefing is aimed at enlightening you on precautions you need to take when you encounter the giant apes the mountain Gorillas in the jungle to avoid unnecessary experiences. You will carry packed lunch and water along and you will be allowed breaks to catch your breath, take water and lunch. The tracking can last 3-8 Hours depending where the Gorilla family is located with an hour permitted for photography so ensure your batteries for your cameras are fully charged.
Dinner and over night at Gorilla Resort/ Buhoma Lodge/ Buhoma Community bandas.
Day 5: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Kampala
After breakfast, set off for Kampala, stop over for lunch in Mbarara Town and then continue to the Equator where you will participate in the water experiment and at the Mpambire Drum village where you can do some souvenir shopping. Arriving in the evening for drop off at your Hotel or airport in case of late Flight schedule.
