DAY 1: Arrival
Arrival at Airport and transfer to Arusha/Moshi by our company guide who will brief you on the climb. Dinner and overnight at Crown Hotel/Impala Hotel.
DAY 02: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut (9,000ft)
Past breakfast, drive to Marangu gate, here you will sign the register at the Park office and make your final preparations for the climb, fees payments and final parking. Have lunch enroute as you climb through dense semi-tropical forest to Mandara Hut to spend the first night. Dinner and an overnight at Mandara hut.
DAY 03: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut (12,000ft)
Past breakfast, set out from Mandara hut, the trail passes through a short stretch of forest and then heads around the base of the Maundi Crater where you will leave the forest and enter the moorland, ascend through the alpine meadow, and grassland to Horombo hut. From here, both Mawenzi and Kibo peaks can be viewed easily. Dinner and an overnight at Horombo hut.
DAY 04: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut (15,000ft)
Have your breakfast before beginning the ascension to Kibo hut. The climb becomes more difficult as the oxygen at these altitudes begins to thin out considerably. The landscape becomes very stony and eroded. Expect to see spectacular mountain vegetation like giant cactus, groundswell and lobelia.
Dinner and an overnight stay at Kibo hut.
DAY 05: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak (19,340ft) and back to Horombo Hut
Wake up just before midnight and after a snack proceed to the summit through Gilman’s point at 5680 metres. Probably the most demanding section of the entire route as it is very steep and rocky. From Gillman’s Point, you will more than likely be walking through snow for the next two hours, you will finally reach the summit of Uhuru Peak at 5895 metres. You will reach the peak in the early hours of the 5th day and start descending after taking some photos. It will take another three hours of hiking to get to Horombo hut where you will spend the night and later enjoy your last dinner on the mountain.

DAY 06: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
Past breakfast, descend from Horombo hut to Marangu gate, this will take at least six hours. At Marangu gate you will sign your name and details in a register. Here you will receive a summit certificate, if you reached Gillman’s Point you will be presented with a green certificate, and if you made it all the way to Uhuru Peak you will have earned yourself a gold certificate. Continue to Arusha arriving in time for Lunch.
