Detailed Trip Itinerary
DAY 1: Kampala – Kidepo Valley National Park
Our guide will pick you from your hotel in Kampala and take you to Entebbe airport to catch a flight to Kidepo Valley National Park in Karamoja which is one of the most remote regions in Uganda. A stop will be at Apoka lodge where you will have your lunch and also get a chance to see some of the animals there. You will have a game drive in the afternoon, where you will sight elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras and hopefully lions, leopards and cheetahs through the Narus valley. You can stop at any spot for photographs of the wild life in the park. Dinner and over night will be at Apoka Safari Lodge to the sights and sounds of valley around you.
DAY 2: Game Viewing in Kidepo National Park
Breakfast in the morning, after go for a game drive and drive across hills, savanna, small forests, dry river beds and the mountain rings around you. There are so many animals roaming around this area and during the drive you get to see also the Karankorog hot springs and the ostrich drive which is beautiful scenery. Lunch is had at the Lodge.
After lunch have a community walk among the Karamajong people at Karena and Kidepo for a cultural tour. You get to learn the ways and culture of these nomads and the ideas they have about cattle and how much they love them. It also includes seeing their way of dressing, jewelry, hunting materials and others. This helps one to understand these people better. Return top the place of accommodation and dinner.
DAY 3: Nature Walks, Return to Kampala
After breakfast, you enjoy a nature walk around the park with the game guide and you will have a chance to see some animals like zebras, baboons and others. There is a chance to also take photos at any spots you choose for memories! After lunch at the lodge you are ready to come back to Kampala or Entebbe what ever destination you may choose.
